FAVORITE U1 U1.1-872ML is a 2.61 m spinning rod in which length, casting range and action are balanced for a specific style of fishing. Favorite U1 rods use Skyflex 24T carbon blanks and guides with TiO2 inserts. The manufacturer emphasises a stiff, fast and practical design aimed primarily at soft plastics and jig heads. The 2.61 m length provides longer casts and improved line control from shore or on larger water. The 4–16 g casting range is the recommended total lure or rig weight. Inside this range the blank loads correctly, retains sensitivity and gives better lure control; the upper limit should not be exceeded. Fast action works mainly through the upper third of the rod. It is a strong compromise between sensitivity, hook-setting speed and fish control, suiting many active lure techniques. This model is best suited to light to medium jigging for perch and zander, plus smaller pike lures.
