FAVORITE U1 722UL-S is a 2.18 m spinning rod whose specifications clearly define its most suitable use. Favorite U1 rods use Skyflex 24T carbon blanks and guides with TiO2 inserts. The manufacturer emphasises a stiff, fast and practical design aimed primarily at soft plastics and jig heads. The 2.18 m length provides good manoeuvrability and lure control, making the rod useful from both boat and bank. The 1.5–7 g casting range is the recommended total lure or rig weight. Inside this range the blank loads correctly, retains sensitivity and gives better lure control; the upper limit should not be exceeded. Extra-fast action means most of the bend is concentrated in the tip section. It provides crisp bottom contact, precise lure control and rapid hooksets, but rewards careful drag and line setup. The solid carbon tip is highly sensitive and visibly registers light bites, making it especially useful for finesse jig rigs and controlled near-bottom fishing. This model is best suited to light jig and lure fishing for perch, trout, chub and smaller pike.
