FAVORITE U1 Casting 722ExH is a 2.18 m baitcasting rod in which length, casting range and action are balanced for a specific style of fishing. Favorite U1 rods use Skyflex 24T carbon blanks and guides with TiO2 inserts. The manufacturer emphasises a stiff, fast and practical design aimed primarily at soft plastics and jig heads. The 2.18 m length provides good manoeuvrability and lure control, making the rod useful from both boat and bank. The 20–60 g casting range is the recommended total lure or rig weight. Inside this range the blank loads correctly, retains sensitivity and gives better lure control; the upper limit should not be exceeded. Fast action works mainly through the upper third of the rod. It is a strong compromise between sensitivity, hook-setting speed and fish control, suiting many active lure techniques. This model is best suited to heavier jigging, larger hardbaits and powerful pike or zander fishing. A baitcasting rod is intended for a low-profile or round baitcasting reel; a spinning reel is not compatible with its trigger reel seat and guide layout.
