Product details

SHIMANO Zodias Casting EX-F is a 1.93 m baitcasting rod in which length, casting range and action are balanced for a specific style of fishing. Shimano Zodias uses Hi-Power X carbon construction to reduce blank twist and improve casting accuracy and power transfer. A Carbon Monocoque grip section enhances transmission of lure vibration and bottom contact. The 1.93 m length provides good manoeuvrability and lure control, making the rod useful from both boat and bank. The 1.5–5 g casting range is the recommended total lure or rig weight. Inside this range the blank loads correctly, retains sensitivity and gives better lure control; the upper limit should not be exceeded. Extra-fast action means most of the bend is concentrated in the tip section. It provides crisp bottom contact, precise lure control and rapid hooksets, but rewards careful drag and line setup. Two-piece construction is a strong compromise between natural rod action and manageable transport length. This model is best suited to ultralight and micro-jig fishing with small soft plastics, spoons and wobblers. A baitcasting rod is intended for a low-profile or round baitcasting reel; a spinning reel is not compatible with its trigger reel seat and guide layout.
