Product details

SHIMANO SLX EX-FAST is a 2.13 m spinning rod in which length, casting range and action are balanced for a specific style of fishing. Shimano SLX uses a full-carbon blank with Diaflash reinforcement, and its extra-fast action is tuned for accurate casting and rapid hooksets. Shimano Hardlite guides and an ergonomic reel seat complete a practical, durable build. The 2.13 m length provides good manoeuvrability and lure control, making the rod useful from both boat and bank. The 7–21 g casting range is the recommended total lure or rig weight. Inside this range the blank loads correctly, retains sensitivity and gives better lure control; the upper limit should not be exceeded. Fast action works mainly through the upper third of the rod. It is a strong compromise between sensitivity, hook-setting speed and fish control, suiting many active lure techniques. One-piece construction gives very direct power and vibration transfer, but needs more transport space. This model is best suited to versatile zander and pike fishing with jigs, wobblers and metal lures.
